Golf is a precision sport in which players use a variety of clubs to hit a small ball into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible. The game is played outdoors on specially designed golf courses, which typically consist of 9 or 18 holes. Each hole has a designated starting point, called a tee, and a target area with a hole and a flagstick. Players progress through the course, hitting the ball from the tee toward the hole and attempting to complete each hole using the least number of strokes possible.
